Update 24th February 2021
With the Government announcements on Monday 22nd February, it looks as though HGSA will be able to open for OUTDOOR hospitality only from 12th April 2021.
We don’t yet know exactly what this will look like, and await the conditions from the Government on opening, but we are so excited that we can hopefully see you all again very soon, for socially distanced drinks outside on our patio terrace and grounds.
In order to be able to offer more seating outside for when we are permitted to serve drinks outside, we would really appreciate your support with helping us to purchase some new picnic table seating.
We would love to be able to purchase 5 or more 8-seater picnic tables made from recycled plastic (like the image below) to put out on our grass area.
The cost per unit is £500 and so we would need to raise £2,500 to buy 5.
As you know we haven’t been able to trade at all since last summer, and even then it was only permitted for a very limited time, so as you can imagine HGSA has suffered losses as a result of Covid, along with the rest of the hospitality industry.
It would be amazing if you might consider donating to this project, perhaps a donation of what your average drinks round usually is with us?
Or perhaps you work for or know a company that sells these recycled plastic benches and could help us to purchase them at a cheaper price?
Any support you are able to give would be greatly appreciated and valued.
If you feel able to support this project then please do make a donation to
HGSA

AGM:
Due to lockdown we have not yet been able to hold an AGM, however please find below our Chairman’s Report and Financial Summary in the meantime. Our annual accounts will be available shortly in final version.
The HGSA Committee are also delighted to announce the winners of The Team & Person of the Year for 2020, especially valid after the year that 2020 was.
So the winner of Person of the Year for 2020 is….
Georgia Allen, for all the support that she has shown to HGSA during such a tough year. When Sarah Lawson left her position as Bar Manager, Georgia immediately offered to step up to help to cover some of the duties of the Bar Manager role and did so without hesitation. With all the uncertainty around Covid and the financial restraints on the club due to the virus, HGSA hasn’t been able to appoint a new Bar Manager, but Georgia has continued be so supportive of the club whilst in lockdown. Thank you Georgia, you are a true asset to HGSA.
Georgia was able to step up to her extra responsibilities because there is a strong team of Bar staff who work with her, and that brings us to the winners of the Team of the Year…. the wonderful Bar staff at HGSA, many of whom have gone above and beyond in helping to support the club over the last year and through many years before too. Customers regularly comment on what a great team we have and how well the bar and clubhouse are run, which is due to those that work behind the bar each week. A huge thanks to each of you for your efforts.
Two lovely plaques will be added to our winners board in the hallway of HGSA for you all to see when we are all allowed to socialise indoors again.
Thank you to everyone who nominated.
